• Curated diagnostic playbooks — codes, ranked likely fixes, platform patterns, safety stops (built for DIY + tech second opinions)
• Public NHTSA field intel — recalls, owner complaints, and manufacturer-communication / TSB concise summaries published by NHTSA (not full OEM repair procedures)
• Source-aware knowledge layer (RAG) — documents are ingested, indexed, and retrieved with source + confidence + authority tier. We do not train the language model on manuals. Licensed OEM/aftermarket APIs can plug in later; missing specs are marked unknown instead of invented.
• AI reasoning — when configured, a language model answers like a bay tech, grounded on your saved vehicle, playbooks, and retrieved citations (never scraped publisher SI)
• What we won’t invent— exact torque, wire colors, and OEM R&R times stay in factory / licensed service info

What we will not do

• Upload or redistribute scanned repair manuals or publisher PDFs
• Scrape DIY book sites or claim their procedures as ours
• Imply affiliation with automakers or publishers we have not partnered with
